The Arts & Cultural Commission administers the City of Corpus Christi's annual Arts Grant Program. The City's Hotel Occupancy Tax funds the awards to nonprofit 501c3 corporations and/or tax exempt organizations that provide art programs and activities which enhance and promote tourism and the convention/hotel industry within the City of Corpus Christi.
Recognizing and enthusiastically supporting a growing and broadening interest in preserving and enhancing the community's quality of life, the city acknowledges the contribution of the Arts and is dedicated to the vigorous development of the Arts and the promotion of public participation in the City’s cultural activities.
The objectives of the Arts Program are to:
- Promote tourism for the City while providing a variety of high quality art programs and activities to the citizens of Corpus Christi.
- Respond to the needs of local artists and art organizations and encourage creativity and artistic development.
- Promote the development of visual and performing arts organizations that serve the community.
